The otomat servo-automated conventional series keeps the familiar feel of a manual mill, adding X/Y/Z axial servo control for automatic facing, linear slotting and drilling. No optical scale and no CNC experience required — an ideal entry point to automation.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions and answers about this model.

What materials can the otomat Series machine?
The otomat Series is suited to milling common metal materials such as aluminum, copper, carbon steel and stainless steel. Actual workable materials and ranges depend on the model specifications and workpiece conditions.
What control system does the otomat Series use?
It runs LIHAITEC's in-house Ezimill Intuitive Touch Smart control system (graphical planar operation): the operator selects and places machining modules on a 2D plane drawing and sets the Z-axis depth, and the system automatically detects the graphics and generates the toolpath — no G/M code — mirroring how shop-floor machinists think about machining. The control system is developed in-house by LIHAITEC, integrates automation such as a robotic arm and automatic load/unload, and is built to order; the same system applies across lathes and mills (Utility Model M670627, Automated Machine Tool Controller, not limited to one machine type).
What can the otomat Series machine, and is there anything it cannot do?
The otomat Series focuses on planar and 2.5D parts: using its graphic machining modules it completes facing, linear slotting, pockets, islands and drilling, and can set the Z-axis depth for layered machining. In practice, the vast majority of everyday milling work is this kind of planar and 2.5D work — exactly the range the otomat Series covers with no G/M code and no CAD/CAM: many planar parts that would otherwise need a CNC with CAD/CAM can be produced directly with its graphic modules. For molds and 3D freeform surfaces, a CNC machine tool with CAD/CAM is still recommended; the otomat Series does not replace every type of machining — it lowers the barrier for the planar and 2.5D work that makes up most jobs, from "able to program" to "able to read a drawing".
How can I get a quote and lead time for the otomat Series?
The otomat Series is offered on a quotation basis. Add it to your inquiry list or contact us with your requirements, and we will respond with pricing and lead time based on configuration and stock availability.
What pre-sales and after-sales services come with the otomat Series?
LIHAITEC provides full pre-sales and after-sales support, including on-site installation, operator training and trial runs, and warranty service (warranty period as agreed in the contract).
Is the otomat Series hard to learn? Do I need programming skills?
No. The otomat Series uses graphical planar operation — select machining modules on a 2D plane drawing and set the Z-axis depth, and the system automatically detects and generates the toolpath. A machine is for cutting parts, not for learning a programming language, so operators get up to speed quickly.
Can the otomat Series be automated for high-volume production?
Yes. The otomat Series can be fitted with a robotic arm and automatic load/unload. Combined with the saved machining graphics, conditions and origin, it runs unmanned around the clock — 24 hours non-stop — for lights-out mass production with no programming. The otomat Series is built to order.
How do I choose between the otomat Series and other models in the same series?
Models differ in machining size and configuration. We suggest reviewing the spec table on this page and comparing other models in the same series; if you're unsure, contact us and we'll help you select based on your machining needs.
